DRASTIC ANDREW
Drastic Andrew is a 5-9 piece progressive rock outfit with 5 studio albums of original music. 2022’s “The Great Unconformity” was nominated in 3 award categories in the New Mexico Music Awards. Previous albums have been awarded Best Rock Album, among 7 other wins. Drastic Andrew’s “Drastically Live” live album was released worldwide digitally on March 24th, 2024. It was recorded from the soundboard at Tumbleroot Brewery/Distillery in Santa Fe, NM on July 1st, 2023 and captures a lively CD release performance with freewheeling interpretations of the deep back catalog of original material and spontaneous renditions of songs from 2022’s “The Great Unconformity.”
Choosing the Spotify’s Drastic Andrew Radio option displays a range of similar sounding artists and influences, such as Wilco, Black Keys, Cracker, Rolling Stones, Ray Wylie Hubbard, old 97’s, Jack White, Steve Earle, Richard Thompson, Josh Ritter and Ryan Adams. Drastic Andrew has developed a unique sound all their own with a distinct progressive, indie pop streak, over 10 years of composing and performing in most of Northern New Mexico’s liveliest bars, brewpubs and larger stages such as Albuquerque festivals and several shows on the plaza stage in Lensic 360’s Santa Fe’s summer concert series.
Led by Andrew MacLauchlan, the quintet nail their colours to the mast with a collection of songs that delve into various themes, from social injustice and the environment, to love and relationships and personal/ universal struggle. It’s a range of subjects that songwriters are prone to explore, so it’s to MacLauchlan’s credit that he brings something new and original to the table. Contrasting musical styles, full production and ambitious arrangements transcend any intimation and are the hallmark of each album.
Two singles from “The Great Unconformity,” Angels and Medicine Woman, have been in rotation on Santa Fe’s KBAC. Drasic Andrew is featured on KBAC’s Frogville Radio Hour every Thursday evening.
Andrew is currently in production of the band’s 8th album named “Stained Glass,” for release late 2024/early 2025.
Singer-songwriter Eryn Bent has been enchanting audiences since age 14, with her powerhouse vocals and honest, true-to-life gritty songwriting.
Born and raised in Montana, Eryn has small-town, Western roots that influence through her songwriting. Marrying emotive lyrics and moving melodies, her autobiographical originals explore several genres, but cling strongly to the authenticity of folk and traditional country. While New Mexico has become her home base, she has played all over the West coast, forever planting her musical magic in the hearts of those who hear her.
Eryn is a trained vocalist with years of private training under her belt, which gives her the incredible range and ability to showcase her music in a genuine, evocative way. She sings, she means it, and you’ll feel it in your bones.
“Firefly”, Bent’s first professional release, hit the public in May 2014, and was met with great review. The album is a 2015 New Mexico Music Award Winner, with 4 nominations, including “Best of the Year”. Bent’s second professional release, the “Go Down Fighting” EP, also garnered several New Mexico Music Award nominations in the Best Country category in both 2019 and 2020 after its 2019 release.
