A Revival of Santa Fe’s Iconic Latin Dance Scene
Tumbleroot Brewery & Distillery is thrilled to announce the launch of Club Alegría, a vibrant new music series honoring the legendary Latin dance venue that once pulsed at the heart of Santa Fe’s nightlife. Join us on Saturday, November 16, as we reignite the spirit of the classic “Baile” with a night filled with live Latin music, electrifying beats, and community celebration.
Doors open at 6:30 PM, with the festivities kicking off at 7:30 PM as DJ Luz Skylarker warms up the dance floor. The evening’s headliner, Frontera Bugalù, promises to deliver an unforgettable performance. Known for their dynamic fusion of cumbia, salsa, and reggaeton, Frontera Bugalù will bring their unique sound and infectious energy to set the tone for this inaugural night.
The new Club Alegría series at Tumbleroot is more than just an event—it’s a tribute to the beloved Club Alegría, which hosted generations of dancers from the 1960s to the 2000s. With a commitment to honoring the venue’s legacy, Tumbleroot’s Club Alegría will feature a rotating lineup of live Latin bands, keeping the tradition alive with performances from both established and emerging artists in the Latin music scene.
Founded in 2012 Frontera Bugalú was created to pay homage to the hybrid form of music that could only have been createdalong the long border that stretches from Brownsville to El Paso.
With its unique accordion-based music, Frontera Bugalú embodies the new sound of the border, one that embraces both vibrant sides of the Rio Grande and beyond.
Welcome to the world of Alma, a Latin music four-piece band based in Santa Fe, New Mexico! Founded by guitarist Tito Rios in March of 2022, this dynamic band has been performing regularly in the Santa Fe area and has quickly gained a reputation for its elegant and upbeat music. With a sound that draws from a variety of influences including South American music, this band’s unique blend of cumbias, boleros, and bachatas is sure to get your feet moving.
The band’s instrumentation includes vocals, bongos, maracas, cowbell, guiro, and more, by Nidia Galindo and Rafael Herrera, bass by Justin Bransford, and guitar by Tito Rios, resulting in a rich and full sound that will transport you to the heart of Latin America. Whether you’re looking for a lively dance party or a laid-back evening of listening, this band has something for everyone. So come join us as we celebrate the rich and vibrant culture of Latin music in the beautiful city of Santa Fe!
