SARA DIAZ
Sara started singing professionally as a child in Chicago, and continued as a vocal artist well into her 20’s. She studied vocal performance and presentation, worked in Los Angeles with songwriters who were not singers, recording their demos for recording deals. and helping with arrangements, to sell to major artists.
Her life took a left turn into Fashion, and for many years she had a solid career as a designer in Los Angeles; no irony that she created stage wear for singers/performers.
Life intervened, and after raising her daughter she moved to Santa Fe, NM where she ultimately resumed her singing career. Singing in local blues bars/clubs, she sang on studio recordings for several national musical artists who were recording in Santa Fe.
With her early training in the genres of Big Band and Broadway, her blues -influenced style brought her back to her roots as a jazz singer.
Sara performs regularly with the David Geist Experience, singing tunes from The Great American Songbook, Broadway, and jazz; she can be seen performing with the Sant Fe Great Big Jazz Band, and has been regularly singing jazz standards with soul, with High City Jazz quartet.
DAVID SAMPSON
David Sampson is originally from Chicago and has performed around the world with many artists including Charles Earland, Lauren Hill, and Craig Robinson and the Nasty Delicious. He lives in Santa Fe and is on the faculty at the New Mexico School for the Performing Arts.
