Jacob Shije Trio:

Jacob Shije, an Indigenous musician from Santa Clara Pueblo, New Mexico, embodies the spirit of rock’n’roll with his band, the Jacob Shije Trio. Influenced by the legendary sounds of Link Wray, Buddy Holly, and Ritchie Valens, Jacob’s passion for rockabilly drives him to share the infectious energy of rock & roll with his audience. Jacob, alongside bassist, Tanya Nunez of Ysleta del Pueblo and drummer, Royce Platero of the Navajo Nation, the Jacob Shije Trio aims to celebrate the timeless legacy of rock & roll while infusing it with their own flair, creating a musical experience that resonates far beyond the stage.

Def-i:

Award Winning Diné artist ‘Def-i’ continues to carve out an original niche from introspective and poetic Hip-Hop. Emerging from Dinétah & the underground rap circuit, Def-i’s eclectic repertoire has provided him with much success and opportunity; MC, Producer, Artist-Educator & Entrepreneur – Def-i has been featured on NPR Music, Sway In The Morning, New York Times, BBC, Shade 45, CBC, Democracy Now! and more. His performance styles range widely from Hip-Hop and spoken word to contemporary Indigenous acoustic. Rounding out this diverse musical powerhouse, Def-i is an experienced youth workshop provider, active Recording Academy / GRAMMYs member, and has served abroad as a U.S. State Department Hip-Hop Cultural Ambassador with Next Level 5.0. & 10.0. Def-i’s dedication to cultural preservation and lyrical mastery has earned him the respect of Hip Hop veterans, industry professionals, academics, and upcoming generations.

Hataalii:

Hataałinez Wheeler is a 21-year-old Diné musician hailing from Window Rock, AZ. Named Spin Magazine’s 2023 Breakout Star, Hataałinez is a multidimensional talent, excelling as a singer/songwriter, actor, and writer. The Navajo musician has four albums under his belt thus far in his music career: “Singing Into Darkness,” released in 2023, “Land of Poor Chance” and “President’s Got Me All Night Long,” both released in 2022 and “Banana Boy,” released in 2019.

Geneviève Gros-Louis (The One-Woman Symphony):

Geneviève Gros-Louis is an LA-based film and television composer, violinist, and producer from the Huron-Wendat Nation in Wendake, Québec. Fearlessly tackling topics like mental health, women’s issues, and challenges faced by Indigenous communities, her art resonates around the world. With heart-wrenching original compositions, Gros-Louis weaves narratives through interdisciplinary arts, showcased in esteemed museums worldwide. Notable recent appearances include performances at the Cannes Film Festival, Paris Fashion Week, and Sante Fe Indian Market. Her recent film/tv score work includes season 3 of National Geographic’s Life Below Zero: First Alaskans and may currently be found scoring the new season of National Geographic’s Life Below Zero.

Stuart James:

Stuart James is a Dakota – Arikara Hip Hop artist & enrolled member of the MHA Nation in North Dakota. Stuart channels experiences and heritage into power from music that addresses the struggles faced on the reservation. His heartfelt lyrics resonate with authenticity and hope, aiming to uplift and inspire his listeners. Committed to nurturing the next generation, Stuart performs for youth and conducts music making workshops, offering a creative outlet and a source of empowerment. Through his art and community work, Stuart strives to represent Native people with pride, showcasing their capabilities and potential to achieve great things.

A$h Da Hunter:

A$h Da Hunter is from Arizona, and just like the Phoenix, she has risen from the ashes of reservation life. As a member of the Yavapai-Apache Nation, and a blood descendent of the Hopi people, she has come from ceremonies in the desert to blessings on the mic. As a native female rapper, she has evolved her love and passion for putting her lyrics, accompanied by amazing unique beats to share her culture and life style. Music has always had a strong influence in her life, and she uses it as a platform to express herself freely. A$h Da Hunters lyrics are candid and unapologetic.

Joshua Fournier:

Diné Comedian, Joshua Fournier, originally hails from the Navajo reservation, being born in Shiprock, NM. Since he was raised in Albuquerque and being immersed in various Native American and colonial cultures, traditions, and history, Fournier loves to address the tensions between different cultures. Fournier’s comedy is descriptive, untamed and surreal. Fournier has showcased his performance all throughout the states from LA to New York. He has performed in local breweries, the Tempe Improv, Comedy Store and various casinos. Fournier’s accolades include being recognized as Albuquerque’s Funniest Comedian, Audience’s Best Choice, and Albuquerque’s Favorite Comedian. He’s done Netflix is a Joke Fest as well as Sketch Fest. Also Mr Fournier has opened for Dave Attell, Eric Griffin, Jesus Trejo and Bryan Callen.
