Long-running, genre defying Austin Music Hall of Fame act the Hickoids are set to make a “Sasquatch Stroll” of the Western U.S. in August 2025. Hickoids are a Central Texas band that trace their roots to the early 80s Austin punk scene that spawned greats such as Scratch Acid, The Offenders and Butthole Surfers. From their cowpunk beginnings the band has morphed into something that contemporary listeners will recognize as “roadhouse punk.”  The band combines a flair for showmanship, a never lost irreverent attitude and musical adeptness that allows them to fold a lot of different Southern American roots styles into a sound that is uniquely their own. Hickoids are equally at home at a festival, in a blues club, a country bar or the punkest of punk dives and since reforming in the mid/late 2000s the band has played 800 shows in at least half the 50 U.S. states, Canada and ten European countries. They’ve shared the stage with everyone from Nine Inch Nails to The Old 97s, The Flaming Lips to The Flamin’ Groovies, Roky Erickson to Lucinda Williams and whole lot of folks in between.

BIG VIOLET

Big Violet is a five piece Americana Rock band based out of Taos, NM. The band came together in 2022 initially as a passion project; a fun pastime for some high caliber musicians to let off some steam. However, they figured out pretty quickly that the project was too much fun to keep to themselves and started playing gigs. The reception has been nothing short of enthusiastic and the band intends on releasing its first original tracks in 2025. Big Violet’s soulful and authentic live performances leave audiences dancing, laughing, and always wanting more. With powerhouse vocals, rocking guitar riffs, haunting harmonies, tasty violin, drums, and bass, stories of doomed relationships, motorcycle rides in the desert, quitting your job, and finding your voice come alive with electric energy.

From moshing to two step, from contemplating death to feeling inspired to take life by the horns, from hating their ex to being grateful love exists, Big Violet takes the audience on a full-spectrum, high energy journey through what it means to be alive.

Big Violet blends rock, country, blues, and Americana to create original music in a high desert style all their own.
