“The Roswells bring the nostalgia of the second and third generation of country music into the millennia. Singing songs of western swing and honky tonk greats, The Roswells add their own flare with their unmistakeable Nuevo Mexico and Tejano influence and sound. The influence is evident when they switch, almost on the spur of the moment, from Buck Owens to Al Hurricane. Their blend of harmonies is that of Johnny and June, Dolly and Porter, and Loretta and Conway. Part angst but all love.” -Cactus Eddie
The High Desert Playboys are one of Albuquerque’s premier live dance bands. They play a unique blend of original and modern americana, high energy bluegrass, classic country, country gospel, western swing, cajun and zydeco standards.
Some of the artists they feature include Dolly Parton, Waylon Jennings, Peter Rowan, Willie Nelson, Clifton Chenier, Hank Williams Sr, Dr. John, Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash, Old Crow Medicine Show, The Avett Brothers, Mumford and Sons, Gillian Welch, as well as songs from the American songbook.
Led by singer/songwriter Clark Andrew Libbey, they have been barnstorming throughout New Mexico for the last 8 years, and have garnered a reputation for upbeat old school dance sets that feature soulful vocals, delicate harmonies and an exciting mixture of classic and original songs.
They recently released their second full length album on Slow Start Records, “Ticker Tape Parade”, and their latest singles, an original cajun song “Cold Cold Ground” and a cover of the Paul Simon classic “That Was Your Mother” are available now on all platforms
